I am a painter, muralist, and illustrator from Louisville, KY. My style and technique with charcoal is striking chiaroscuro conveying comedic and macabre subject matters.
I believe that as artists, our creativity stems from two places. One being our personal experiences. The second is from a more abstract place. Depending on our mood, vibrations, or mental health status; we act as antennae. The receivers of the artistic concepts we are creating. As if the artwork has been floating in some unseen aether. Patiently waiting for someone to signal that they are ready to bring the art into this world.
I think this explains why (years ago as a younger, greener artist) I could never finish a piece , and eventually nit-picked the artwork until I ruined it. Learning when to stop, separate myself from the picture, and accept the artwork for what it is has been beneficial to me in many aspects.
I appreciate your time and attention spent towards my art. Thank you.
